What's Next?

Ok, so we are at the end of yet another Presidential,Gubernatorial, and Senate election (not to mention other races as well) and in the midst of all of the celebrations (or, if you're Fox News, weeping and gnashing of teeth by Karl Rove) there is one important question I hope you ask yourself this morning....

...What's Next? No, not the name of that song by Leaders of the New School back in '93 (although that was a slamming track)...I'm talking about what's next for us as a nation?

Think about it, this country is now more divided than ever, Red vs. Blue, Black vs. White, Godzilla vs. Gork, Minnesota vs. Oakland (sorry, got on a tangent there). However, the point remains that we as a nation have to realize that in order to provide our children and grandchildren with a future it all starts now. Our voices cannot go silent just because the elections (and thankfully the ads) are over with. Regardless of your party affiliation, I ask you to pray for our President and for Congress that they may begin to put their differences aside and begin to work on the fiscal cliff asap, before America falls off of it. Maybe if President Obama walks Speaker Boehner's dog that will get negotiations on the right track...

Also, for all of the Pastors out there, it's time to stop with the divisive nature in our churches. Too often we have seen great men of God be denied the opportunity to speak at churches because of pastors like who fear losing members (or more importantly their wallets) and that is just wrong. Brothers and sisters, let's stop being the band that keeps on playing while the Titanic is sinking! Start getting educated about what's going on in your district. If we dedicated half the time we spend on Facebook and other pointless websites to actually do research on what our elected officials are doing, we'd be surprised at how much mess is going on. Our children are counting on us...

So I poise this question to you, what are you willing to give up today for a better tomorrow?
